REBUILD 2026 Construction Event Sets Attendance Record and Announces Italian Expansion

The REBUILD 2026 event, a leading European gathering focused on modern construction, concluded its ninth edition at IFEMA Madrid with unprecedented attendance figures. The event attracted 32,487 industry professionals, establishing a new participation record. During the proceedings, organizers announced plans for international expansion into Italy, with a scheduled event in Rimini from November 17-19. The Madrid edition featured the Advanced Architecture and Construction 4.0 Congress, which brought together 732 experts to discuss technological and sustainable building practices. Spanish Health Minister Mónica García participated in the third day's discussions, emphasizing the connection between housing policies and public health. She noted that approximately 40% of families consider housing their primary source of distress, linking inadequate housing to mental health issues like insomnia and anxiety. García advocated for integrated approaches across government ministries to address housing, health, climate change, and urban planning collectively. Technical sessions featured representatives from Amazon Web Services, Deloitte, and Woxsen University discussing data utilization, artificial intelligence implementation, and smart building technologies. Rafael Pacheco of AWS emphasized the importance of defining data purposes before implementing technologies, while Isaac Núñez of Deloitte highlighted cultural barriers to digital adoption. The event included 758 exhibiting companies and generated economic impact exceeding 84 million euros for Madrid. Event director Gema Travería stated the Italian expansion aims to replicate the Spanish model's success in sustainable building and energy rehabilitation markets.
