Raymond Biesinger's self-defense guide for creatives ripped off

Montreal-based illustrator Raymond Biesinger has released a new book titled "9 Times My Work Has Been Ripped Off: An Informal Self-Defense Guide for Independent Creatives," published by D+Q. The book features 30,000 words alongside 60 illustrations and discusses nine occasions where his unique style was imitated. The project was sparked by a conflict with a major non-profit that sought to have him sign a non-disclosure agreement for a payment offer. In his book, Biesinger provides advice for artists dealing with wage theft and critiques the slow and costly legal system. He has been a professional illustrator since 2001.
