Quisqueya Henríquez Exhibition in Madrid Offers Comprehensive Retrospective of Caribbean Artist

A major exhibition titled 'El centro puede estar en todas partes' presents the most extensive European survey of Quisqueya Henríquez's work at Madrid's Centro de Arte Complutense. Organized by the Fundación Alberto Cruz in partnership with Universidad Complutense and the artist's Estate, the show features over five thematic sections exploring her multidisciplinary practice spanning photography, video, collage, and installation. Curated by René Morales with Isabella Lenzi and Alfonsina Martínez, the exhibition examines Caribbean art through conceptual tensions like center-periphery and high-low culture. Notable works include 'Helado de agua de mar Caribe' (2001-2002), 'Brand New Shit' (2002), and collaborative projects like 'Formal/Informal' (2017-2018). The exhibition runs through April 26, 2026.
