Quest Magazine Launches Issue 2 with Nine Stories, 11 Typefaces and Gaming-Inspired Web Design
In August 2026, Quest, a magazine dedicated to sci-fi and fantasy web fiction, released its second issue, which includes nine stories, an essay, a dispatch, and contributions from 11 artists and 11 typefaces. The platform, created by founders Ross Gendels and Zane Miller, showcases distinct typefaces and artwork for each narrative. This issue attracted 1,154 submissions, twice the amount received for the inaugural issue, and operates on a reader-funded model. Highlights feature Diana Weisman's essay "Weapon of Choice" and Emily Ver Steeg's "Native Advertising." The site, developed alongside Ji Park, Tiger Dingsun, and Teo Tsivranidis, presents the browser interface like a game HUD. Print versions of both Issues 1 and 2 are underway, with free access and optional Patreon support.
