Q-Bic Studio and Politecnico di Milano Design School Present Water-Themed Installation at University of Milan

exhibition · 2026-04-03

An architectural installation titled 'Ad Aquam 2026 – Reflections' has been unveiled at the University of Milan's Cortile d'Onore. Created by the Q-Bic design studio in collaboration with students from POLI.design and the School of Design at Politecnico di Milano, the project was produced by Rubinetterie Treemme. The work features an L-shaped structure with irregular geometry, covered in corrugated mirrored sheet metal that creates reflective surfaces. The installation is divided into two distinct areas: one section displays projections presenting data about water consumption, while another contains functional washbasin faucets connected to meters that track real-time water usage. Through this interactive environment, visitors become both observers and reflected participants in a continuously transforming space. The project addresses water resource management as a significant contemporary issue, encouraging ethical awareness and shared responsibility regarding consumption. The installation blends industrial research with academic perspectives, using water as a narrative device to connect global statistics with individual actions.
