architecture-design · 2026-04-02

The ground floor of the Prudência Building in São Paulo's Higienópolis neighborhood has undergone a comprehensive renovation completed in 2022. The architectural project was led by Gui Paoliello Arquiteto, with coordination by Guilherme Paoliello and curation by Susanna Moreira. The original structure, constructed between 1944 and 1948, represents one of the earliest modern high-rise residential buildings in the area. The renovation covers 2,797 square meters and involved a multidisciplinary team including Paulo Vitor Almeida, Raquel Miguies Gonçalves, and landscape architect Cynthia Zanotto. Electrical engineering was handled by Luxprojetos e Reka, while Construtora DDK served as general contractor. Interior design elements were created by Paulo Alves and Luis Suzuki, along with Anderson and Art Inox. Photography documentation was provided by Nelson Kon. This restoration project preserves a significant example of mid-20th century Brazilian architecture while updating its functional spaces for contemporary use.
