Private Scandinavian art collection debuts at Taft Museum

From June 13 to September 20, 2026, the Taft Museum of Art in Cincinnati will present 'The Scandinavian Home: Landscape and Lore,' marking the debut of a private Nordic art collection. This exhibition, organized by The Frick Pittsburgh, will display around 75 pieces from the Pennsylvania collection of David and Susan Werner, including paintings, textiles, ceramics, furniture, metalwork, and works on paper. The artifacts, created between 1880 and 1920, reflect a significant era in Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. The exhibition delves into how notions of home, landscape, and national identity influenced Nordic art and material culture, with consulting curators Patricia G. Berm overseeing the project.
