Printed Matter Celebrates 50 Years with Anniversary Program Including Ruscha Tribute, Art Book Fairs, and Exhibitions
Printed Matter is launching its 50th anniversary celebrations with a lineup of events throughout the year. A benefit dinner honoring artist Ed Ruscha, founder Pat Steir, and BlackMass Publishing is planned for April 21, 2026. From May 7 to 10, the LA Art Book Fair will be hosted at the ArtCenter College of Design, while the NY Art Book Fair will celebrate its 20th anniversary at MoMA PS1 from September 24 to 27. This summer, visitors can enjoy a solo show featuring Chang Yuchen and an archival exhibition on Gordon Matta-Clark's 'Walls Paper' starting September 9. Other projects include '50 Objects, 50 Years,' the Publisher Work Grant, and a fall 2026 facsimile of 'GAAG: The Guerilla Art Action Group.' Founded in 1976, Printed Matter is located at 11th Avenue and 26th Street.
