PRINT Book Club to Discuss D. B. Dowd's 'Reading Pictures' on July 23

Debbie Millman and Steven Heller will lead a PRINT Book Club discussion on July 23 featuring D. B. Dowd, the author of 'Reading Pictures: A History of Illustration'. Dowd serves as a design and American culture studies professor at Washington University in St. Louis and is the faculty director of the Dowd Illustration Research Archive. His book explores the development of illustration in relation to the printing press, mass literacy, journalism, advertising, and consumer culture, showcasing more than 400 images from various centuries and global contexts. The event is complimentary and accessible to the public through Zoom registration.
