Primavera 2026 at MCA Australia: Young Artists Reimagine the Past

The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA Australia) has announced Primavera 2026: Young Australian Artists, an exhibition featuring eight emerging artists who draw on history, memory, and archives to comment on contemporary issues. The show includes new works that explore intimate stories, historical crimes, cutting-edge technologies, and tender moments, suggesting the past is never fixed but open to reinterpretation. Among the participants, Mark Maurangi Carrol presents a new suite of paintings titled 'oro enua, atu enua' ('the horse, the lord of land'), inspired by a New Year's Day event on the Cook Islands. The exhibition runs from November 2026 to February 2027 at MCA Australia in Sydney.
