Portrait of 91-Year-Old Painter Manuel Miranda Released as Video
Glasstire has just released a new video called "El Silencio Profundo: A Portrait of Manuel Miranda, Rio Grande Valley." It features 91-year-old Manuel Miranda, who lives in South Texas and expresses his artistic process at home. He emphasizes the idea that art should reflect a spontaneous, childlike wonder. Originally from Mexico City, where he was born in 1935, Miranda started his artistic career in 1967 after working as an illustrator for Mexican magazines. He moved to McAllen, Texas, in 2000. His work has been showcased internationally, including at the First Street Gallery in New York City and the Boomer Gallery in London. His art is also part of permanent collections in Austin and Arizona. This video is part of Glasstire's 25th Anniversary Annual Fund campaign.
