Ponto C Cultural Center Opens in Penafiel, Designed by Galeria Gabinete
The Ponto C – Cultura e Criatividade cultural center has opened in Penafiel, Portugal. Designed by the architecture firm Galeria Gabinete, led by Helder de Carvalho, the project transforms the urban fabric by reconnecting the city's southern area with its historic center. The four-level building, completed in 2024, features an auditorium, exhibition spaces, a café, and technical areas. Its green exterior, designed to blend with surrounding vegetation, and its integration with Praça de S. Martinho address a long-standing urban division. The project involved collaborators including Luís Moura, Elsa Pinto, and Vasco Melo for architecture, with photography by Ivo Tavares Studio.
