Pola Museum of Art Shows All 19 Monets in Centenary Exhibition

The Pola Museum of Art in Hakone, Japan, is presenting its entire collection of nineteen Claude Monet oil paintings in a single exhibition for the first time. Titled "The New Vision: Monet and the Contemporary Gaze," the show marks the centenary of Monet's death in 1926 and the museum's 25th anniversary. The collection, the largest of its kind in Asia, spans Monet's entire career, from early landscapes of the Seine and Saint-Lazare Station to leisure resorts, seascapes, the London and Venice series, and the late "Water Lilies." The exhibition explores Monet's radical aesthetic vision, which departed from artistic traditions and astonished contemporaries like Paul Cézanne. The display offers a comprehensive view of the artist's evolution, emphasizing his role as a pioneer of modern perception.
