Podium in Oslo Hosts Night Under the Park, Launching Reader for 2021 Valkyrie Plass Happening

publication · 2026-10-22

At Oslo's Hausmania cultural centre, Podium hosted an event titled Night Under the Park to honor a reader who chronicled the 2021 gathering, Under The Park. This previous occasion featured performances and discussions at the now-closed Valkyrie plass T-bane station. The gallery recreated the station's ambiance, showcasing a 1985 Bik Bok advertisement and a "Valkyrie plass" sign. The reader's compilation includes pieces from 2021 along with a text by editor Gustav Elgin. The evening began with a performance by Cypriot artist Krista Papista, followed by a DJ set from Dahir Hussein (GLOBALDRAMA). Jan Verwoert delivered a lecture-performance on "fatal fashion," and Adam Khalil presented New Red Order's Never Settle (2020). Additionally, research materials from Sara Eliassen were exhibited.
