Pittsburgh's Leading Theater Organizations Combine to Form New Company

Two major performing arts institutions in Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Public Theater and Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, have agreed to merge into a single entity. The boards of both organizations approved the plan, which will see the existing companies dissolve. The newly formed theater group, which has not yet been named, intends to reveal its first season of productions in the autumn and begin performances in January.
