Picasso Exhibition Explores Memory and Desire at Málaga Museum

The Museo Picasso Málaga is presenting 'Picasso Memoria y Deseo,' an exhibition examining the relationship between imagery and the modern subject through works by Pablo Picasso and his contemporaries. Curated by Eugenio Carmona, a professor at the University of Málaga and member of the museum's programming committee, the show includes pieces by Giorgio de Chirico, Fernand Léger, Jean Cocteau, Man Ray, René Magritte, and features interpretations by Salvador Dalí and Federico García Lorca. The exhibition centers on Picasso's 1925 painting 'Estudio con cabeza de yeso,' which reflects on time, history, and the fragmented self. It explores themes of memory, desire, and cultural transformation during the 1920s and 1930s, a period marked by social upheaval and changing mentalities. The exhibition is sponsored by Fundación Unicaja and runs from November 14, 2025, to April 12, 2026, at the museum's Palacio de Buenavista location in Málaga, Spain.
