Photography Exhibition 'Water Pantanal Fire' Opens at Science Museum Highlighting Wetland Conservation

The Science Museum in London is presenting 'Water Pantanal Fire,' a free photography exhibition focusing on the Pantanal, the world's largest wetland spanning Brazil, Bolivia, and Paraguay. The show features 65 images by Brazilian photographers Luciano Candisani and Lalo de Almeida, contrasting the region's aquatic biodiversity with the impacts of recent wildfires. Candisani's work captures underwater scenes and wildlife, while de Almeida documents fires from 2020 and 2024. Curated by Eder Chiodetto and produced by Documenta Pantanal, the exhibition aims to raise awareness about environmental threats including deforestation, intensive farming, and climate change. It is part of the UK/Brazil Season of Culture 2025-26 and runs until May 31, 2026, with no separate ticket required beyond museum admission.
