market-auction · 2026-09-18

On 21 October, Phillips will host a sale featuring modern, contemporary, and design art at Galerie Aveline, located on rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré in Paris, aligning with Art Basel Paris. This event signifies Phillips' growth in Paris, a market where it has had less visibility compared to Christie's and Sotheby's. In November 2023, Phillips conducted its inaugural Paris sale, which centered on photography and achieved a total of 230,505 euros. Among the initial lots is a Joan Miró, valued between 300,000 and 500,000 euros. This information was reported by Julien Tribut in Le Journal des Arts n°683 on 18 September 2026, which also mentioned the opening of Galerie Mitterrand's new location on 20 October and the closure of Almine Rech at 18, avenue Matignon.
