Philip Hartman's 1986 East Village film 'NO PICNIC' returns in 4K restoration at Film Forum
A newly restored version of Philip Hartman's 1986 film 'NO PICNIC' will screen at Film Forum from April 17 to April 23. The neo-noir comedy features David Brisbin, Myoshin, Anne D'Agnillo, and Luis Guzmán, with cameos by Steve Buscemi and Richard Hell. The movie captures the East Village before gentrification, following a jukebox operator's search for a mysterious woman. It originally premiered at the 1986 Sundance Festival, where Peter Hutton received the Best Cinematography award for his black-and-white photography.
