Pentax K-1 Mark II Discontinued in Japan, Leaving No Active DSLRs

The Pentax K-1 Mark II DSLR, introduced by Ricoh Imaging in 2018, has been phased out by leading Japanese retailers such as Camera Kitamura, Map Camera, Bic, Yodobashi, and Ricoh Imaging. Following the discontinuation of the Pentax KF in Japan in May, the K-1 II stands as the final Pentax DSLR still in production there. Reports indicate that Pentax is developing a new DSLR, with Ricoh President Yasutomo Mori affirming the brand's dedication to the DSLR line. A trusted source has hinted that a new Pentax DSLR is underway. In the U.S., B&H lists the K-1 II for $1,796.95, while the KF is no longer available, though a kit can be purchased for $1,193.90. The K-3 Mark III and K-3 Mark III Monochrome are noted but not for sale.
