market-auction · 2026-10-08

Former Beatle Paul McCartney is lending his support to War Child UK by offering a lyric from his classic 1973 track "Band on the Run" for a charitable exhibition and auction. The lyric has inspired more than 60 artists, including Genieve Figgis and Alvaro Barrington, to produce unique art pieces. This event will take place from November 6 to 8 at the Iconic Images Gallery in London, while an online auction will run from October 27 through November 12. Funds raised will assist War Child’s initiatives in conflict-affected nations such as Sudan, Ukraine, and Gaza. McCartney has championed War Child for over three decades.
