Paul McCarthy's Collaborative Drawing Sessions with Lilith Stangenberg at Hauser & Wirth Paris
From March 21 to May 31, 2026, Hauser & Wirth Paris will showcase new drawings and performance videos by Paul McCarthy. Central to the exhibition are the SS EE Saint Santa Eva Elf Drawing Sessions 2025, developed in collaboration with German actress Lilith Stangenberg. These expansive artworks were crafted during filmed sessions set in a replica of McCarthy's childhood residence, utilizing materials such as pencil, pastel, and collage, with dimensions reaching 199.4 x 147.3 cm. McCarthy refers to the creative process as a "sort of gentle madness." Additionally, the exhibition features two edited videos, Micky and Kandinsky. This marks McCarthy's inaugural exhibition at Hauser & Wirth Paris, following earlier displays at Monnaie de Paris and Place Vendôme.
