Patricia Urquiola's Meta-Morphosa Exhibition at CID Grand Hornu Explores Design Transformation

Spanish architect and designer Patricia Urquiola is presenting the exhibition 'Patricia Urquiola. Meta-Morphosa' at CID Grand Hornu in Belgium as part of the EUROPALIA festival's 30th edition focused on Spain. The showcase, running until April 26, serves as a manifesto exploring design's evolution from material to process, craftsmanship to technology, and tradition to regeneration. Urquiola, born in Oviedo in 1961 and educated in Madrid and Milan under masters like Achille Castiglioni, established her own studio in 2001 and won the National Design Award in 2025. Her work is held in collections including MoMA New York, Vitra Design Museum, and Musée des Arts Décoratifs Paris. The exhibition features colorful installations with hybrid creatures and organic forms, including a prominent tapestry depicting Saint Anthony's retreat, examining themes of learning, transformation, and our relationship with change.
