Patricia Lockwood Returns to Poetry with 'Agate Head Stone Soup' After a Decade
Patricia Lockwood has just released her new poetry collection, Agate Head Stone Soup, through Bloomsbury Publishing. This marks her first poetry work in ten years, as she has been focused on prose. The collection is unique, featuring over 60 poems in a double-sided format, with Agate Head on one side and Stone Soup on the other, inspired by Eileen Myles’s Snowflake/different streets. Lockwood, who won the Dylan Thomas Prize in 2021 for her novel No One Is Talking About This and was a finalist for the Booker Prize, is also judging the Dylan Thomas Prize this year. Her new work explores themes of cutting, perception, and personal experiences, influenced by her metalsmithing class and a 1932 book called Dynamarhythmic Design. Living in Savannah with her husband Jason and three cats, Lockwood has a nuanced take on AI, valuing human creativity. Agate Head Stone Soup is now out!
