Parrish Art Museum Gala Raises $1.7M for Arts Education
On July 18, the Parrish Art Museum hosted its annual Midsummer Gala, attracting over 700 attendees and generating $1.7 million for community initiatives, education programs, and exhibitions. The event celebrated philanthropist Ellen Katz, along with artists Enoc Perez, Joan Semmel, Hiroshi Sugimoto, and the late Pat Steir. Dr. Mónica Ramírez-Montagut, the Executive Director, revealed that a Pat Steir exhibition titled "Color Wheel and Waterfalls" will debut next summer. A paddle raise, facilitated by Rachael White Young from Christie's, supported ACCESS PARRISH, the Student Art Exhibition, and the ARTscope Teen Council. Upcoming shows include Sheree Hovsepian's solo exhibition on September 18, 2027. Among the notable guests were Joan Semmel, Ugo Rondinone, and Assemblyman Tommy John Schiavoni, with dinner co-chairs Charlotte Pilaro and Yanina Fuertes.
