Parinamah Architects Designs Meditative Jewelry Store with Temple References in Tiruppur

Parinamah Architects, based in Kochi, has completed a jewelry store for Sabari Gold & Diamonds in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, India. The design draws inspiration from temple architecture and religious rituals to create a contemplative retail environment. The store features a central stone table as its focal point, with curved walls, built-in benches, and a lime-render finish throughout. Entry doors reference temple gates from Tanjore, incorporating weathered steel and coin reliefs from the clients' personal collection. The circular floor plan evokes sacred circumambulatory paths found in Indian temples. Only 15 jewelry pieces are displayed at a time to emphasize craftsmanship. Custom lighting fixtures made from miniature bronze cymbals (elathalam) reference South Indian culture. Additional decorative panels depict Hindu mythological scenes. The architects, Cyriac Panamkuzha and Thomas K Mathew, aimed to create an intimate space where clients can be served individually in an unhurried atmosphere. The store's founders, Susmitha and Prashant, envisioned a themed environment that encourages slow, meditative engagement with the handcrafted gold jewelry.
