Pacifico Silano's 'salt skin' at Trullo Ulìa Blends Queer Archives with Puglian Landscape
From July 19 to September 19, 2026, Trullo Ulìa in Ostuni will host 'salt skin,' a solo exhibition featuring New York artist Pacifico Silano (b. 1986). This exhibition, curated by Michele Spinelli, emerged from a residency in Puglia and delves into themes of memory, desire, and identity, inspired by the Itria Valley's light, red earth, white trulli, and sea salt. Silano, recognized for engaging with queer archives, reinterprets photographs from the 1970s and 1980s to forge connections between individual and shared memories. He created new works by capturing images of young men in the Adriatic coast and Puglian countryside. The exhibition is organized in collaboration with Galleria Monti8, alongside Fondazione Pino Pascali. Silano's pieces are part of the MoMA collection.
