Otra-Escuela de Curaduría de Canarias opens call for first edition

The first edition of the Otra-Escuela de Curaduría de Canarias, an intensive curatorial program, will take place in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria from September 20 to 27, 2026. Organized by Vega de Agua and CCA Gran Canaria, Centro de Cultura Audiovisual, the program is titled 'Una voz colectiva' and explores curating as a shared practice. The call for participants is open until July 25, 2026, with no academic or professional prerequisites, only a minimum B2 Spanish level. Participation is free, and accommodation is provided for those outside Gran Canaria. Confirmed guests include the Institute for Postnatural Studies (represented by curator Daniel H. Rey), curator and critic Adonay Bermúdez, artist and researcher Agnes Essonti Luque, musicologist and sound activist Gara Hernández Sánchez, and transdisciplinary creator Larisa Pérez Flores. The program includes guided sessions, debates, visits to exhibitions and cultural spaces, and conversations with artists and curators. A public program with open encounters and a performative route will also be held.
