Osman Yousefzada's Solo Exhibition 'A Home That Will Not Behave' at Bolanle Contemporary in London

From April 10 to April 26, 2026, Bolanle Contemporary in London will showcase Osman Yousefzada's solo exhibition titled 'A Home That Will Not Behave' at No.9 Cork Street. This exhibition introduces new creations that reinterpret domestic spaces as dynamic environments influenced by intimacy, memory, and physical presence. Yousefzada incorporates Islamic and South Asian cosmologies, especially the concept of jinn, to depict homes as places imbued with invisible entities and emotional traces. His artistic approach utilizes oil and acrylic paints, fiber, collage, screen printing, embroidery, and hand painting, resulting in intricate surfaces that merge architecture with the human form. Themes of marginalization, endurance, refuge, refusal, and transformation are explored, presenting the home as fluid and unsettled. Yousefzada, a British-born artist of Pakistani descent, works across various mediums, including textiles and installation, and has exhibited globally at renowned venues such as Tate Modern and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
