Original Alcoholics Anonymous manuscript to be sold at Christie's

On July 1, 2026, Christie's Rockefeller Center will auction the original working manuscript of 'The Big Book,' the foundational text of Alcoholics Anonymous, as the last item in The Jim Irsay Collection: Icons of History sale. This manuscript features numerous handwritten annotations and revisions by its authors, with an estimated value of $1,000,000–2,000,000. Proceeds from the auction will support charitable initiatives selected by the late Jim Irsay, who was a philanthropist and the owner of the Indianapolis Colts. This event aligns with the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States.
