Onion – The Mansion Opens in Bangkok as Fashion Retailer Expands
Musician Sorasak “House” Chanmantana, founder of Bangkok multi-label shop Onion, opened a second location called Onion – The Mansion in March on Soi Sawatdi off Sukhumvit Road. The new outpost offers an elevated selection of global brands including UJOH, Kolor, Beautiful People, and Studio Nicholson, alongside Onion’s own label, now over a decade old. The space also features Thai fragrance and skincare brands The OBA, Rati, and Copenn, and hosts pop-ups and events with a DJ booth. House started Onion 15 years ago as an online fashion and eyewear side hustle to fund a production studio, naming it to surprise friends who knew he hated onions. He continues to perform with his band Slur and was featured in Monocle’s Thailand: The Monocle Handbook.
