Officials from ICE and DHS were unavailable for comment. The mayor did not respond to a Reuters inquiry, and Biddeford police directed questions to ICE. Salgado, a Mexican national, had been living in the U.S. illegally for over 30 years and was accused by ICE of attempting to run over an officer after ramming into a law enforcement vehicle.
