Oman Air launches nonstop Singapore flights as Gulf carriers resume services

Oman Air has introduced a new direct service connecting Muscat to Singapore, catering to the city's enthusiastic travelers. This route, which operates four times weekly using a Boeing 737 Max 8, ranks among the longest narrowbody flights globally, lasting eight hours. CEO Con Korfiatis stated that the route benefits from a reduced cost structure and the airline's affiliation with the Oneworld alliance, following a previous unsuccessful attempt involving a stop in Kuala Lumpur nine years ago. The airline targets load factors in the mid-to-high 70% range for its first year, with early bookings surpassing this goal. By mid-June, flights to Gulf hub airports, previously affected by the Iran war, had returned to approximately 90% of normal operations. Korfiatis also intends to unveil at least one new nonstop route to North Asia within a year, showing keen interest in China, Japan, and South Korea for their nature-focused and unique travel experiences.
