Ocean Vuong presents first photography exhibition Sống at CPW Kingston

Vietnamese-American writer Ocean Vuong is exhibiting his photographic archive, titled Sống, for the first time at the Center for Photography at Woodstock in Kingston, New York. The show, running until May 10, 2026, features images collected over twenty years, originally intended as private documentation. The work explores themes of family, identity, labor, and rest within Asian American communities, drawing inspiration from photographers like Elliott Erwitt, Chris Killip, Gordon Parks, and LaToya Ruby Frazier. Vuong discusses how his background in punk, skate, and hip-hop cultures informs his artistic approach, emphasizing celebration over decorum.
