Nottingham Contemporary to Host Major Sarah Cunningham Retrospective

Nottingham Contemporary is set to unveil "Sarah Cunningham: Midnight Sun," marking the first solo exhibition of the late British artist. This event will commence on October 9, 2026, and continue until January 10, 2027. Curators Katie Simpson and Niall Ó Faircheallaigh will showcase the most extensive collection of Cunningham's artwork to date, including pieces that have never been displayed before. Born in Nottingham in 1993, Cunningham passed away in 2024 at the age of 31, celebrated for her landscape and abstract works that delve into themes of nature and ecology. Notable pieces include "The World It Softly Lulls" (2021), "Starshine and Clay" (2022), and "Via Lucis [Way of Light]" (2023). A publication, backed by Lisson Gallery and The Nixon Collection, will accompany the exhibition.
