Noguchi Museum Marks 40th Anniversary with Exhibition Exploring Artist's New York Connections

The show examines the relationship between Japanese-American sculptor Isamu Noguchi (1904-1988) and New York City, where he first arrived in 1922 and maintained lifelong ties. The museum, founded by Noguchi himself and opened in 1985, was the first U.S. institution established by a living artist to permanently house their work.
