Nina Zimmer Appointed as New Director General of Vienna's Belvedere Museum

German art historian Nina Zimmer has been named the new Director General of the Austrian Gallery Belvedere in Vienna. Culture Minister Andreas Babler (SPÖ) announced the appointment on Thursday. Zimmer, who currently leads the Kunstmuseum Bern and the Paul Klee Center in Bern, will assume her position on January 16, 2027, succeeding Stella Rollig, who did not reapply for the role. Zimmer was selected as the most suitable candidate by the search committee.
