Nikolaj Mentze adds architecture bookshop to Cobe's Copenhagen studio

Nikolaj Mentze, a Danish architect, has transformed the interior of Cobe's studio in Copenhagen to feature a specialized architecture bookstore. This new addition debuted during the 3 Days of Design festival in June 2026. The shop showcases custom aluminium shelving and wooden display cases, housing books on architecture, urbanism, landscape, and design. A long wooden bench encourages guests to browse publications from both Danish and international authors, including those published by Cobe. Mentze, the founder of Studio 0405, sought to establish a serene and inviting atmosphere that extends to the street, blending a reading area with a cabinet of curiosities and Cobe's community-focused mission. Located at the front of the office, the bookstore complements the industrial aesthetic with aircrete walls and aluminium fixtures. Cobe's founder, Dan Stubbergaard, remarked on Copenhagen's need for a dedicated architecture bookstore, despite the city's rich architectural heritage.
