NGV Triennial 2023: Magic, Matter, Memory

The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) has announced its 2023 Triennial, running from 3 December 2023 to 7 April 2024. The exhibition features over 100 artists, designers, architects, and collectives from Australia and worldwide, organized around three themes: Magic (spirituality), Matter (nature and materials), and Memory (history of people, places, objects). Director Tony Ellwood AM noted the global structural shifts since the last edition, including the pandemic. Notable participants include Yoko Ono, Tracey Emin, Sheila Hicks, David Shrigley, Elmgreen & Dragset, Yinka Shonibare CBE RA, and Hito Steyerl, among many others.
