NGV Professional Development for Primary Teachers on Art-Based Critical Thinking

The National Gallery of Victoria organized professional learning sessions for primary school teachers in May and June 2017 at three regional galleries in Victoria. The program focused on using visual art to develop critical and creative thinking skills aligned with the Victorian Curriculum. Sessions explored the NGV Primary School Philosothon model, demonstrated how art can be used to analyze ethical issues, and introduced the 2017 NGV exhibition 'Love: Art of Emotion 1400–1800'. The training included practical demonstrations of art activities and community inquiry methods.
