New York City Public Spaces Feature Portraits by Seven Street Artists

A collection of new portrait murals has appeared in various New York City neighborhoods, created by seven different artists. French artist Swed Oner painted a photorealistic depiction of photographer Martha Cooper at the Bushwick Collective. Other works include pieces by Bronx-born Andre Trenier in East Harlem, Japanese artist Dragon 76 in Midtown West, and muralist BKFoxx on Manhattan's Lower East Side. Additional contributions come from Cody James, socially-engaged artist Joel Artista in Brooklyn's Red Hook, and multidisciplinary creator Vince Ballentine, also at the Bushwick Collective. These installations represent the ongoing presence of street art in urban environments.
