New York Academy of Art to Redirect Epstein-Linked Funds to Survivor Support Group

The New York Academy of Art announced it will donate $65,900 in contributions linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein to Girls Educational and Mentoring Services, an organization aiding survivors of sex trafficking. The graduate school, co-founded by Andy Warhol and Stuart Pivar, acknowledged governance failures in maintaining ties with Epstein after his 2008 conviction. Recent document releases revealed Epstein purchased fundraiser tables in 2012 and 2014 and donated to a scholarship fund. The institution apologized for its past association and will establish an ethics committee. Board chair Eileen Guggenheim, who facilitated Epstein's involvement, will retire one month early.
