New Orleans Museum of Art showcases Sèvres porcelain from Thomas B. Lemann bequest
The New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) has opened an exhibition of 18th-century ceramics from France's royal Sèvres Porcelain Factory. The works come from a bequest of over 100 objects by collector Thomas B. Lemann, a New Orleans native, WWII codebreaker, lawyer, bibliophile, and traveler. Lemann died in 2023 at age 97. NOMA director Susan M. Taylor praised his informed passion for collecting the finest Sèvres examples.
