New Curators training programme gets £3m from Bukhman Foundation
Founded in 2022 by Mark Godfrey, Kerryn Greenberg, and Rudi Minto de Wijs at the South London Gallery, the New Curators training programme has been awarded a £3m grant from the Bukhman Foundation, created by Anastasia and Igor Bukhman. This funding will benefit over 30 emerging curators worldwide over the next three years. Since its launch, New Curators has supported 33 curators who have curated exhibitions featuring artists such as Firelei Baez and Duane Linklater. The Bukhmans, who moved to London from Russia in 2014, are prominent philanthropists with wealth derived from Playrix, established in 2004. Anastasia Bukhman emphasized the disparities in arts careers, while Godfrey expressed the programme's goal of enhancing access and representation.
