New Book Explores David Bowie's Eclectic Record Collection

'David Bowie: Music Lover,' a publication by ACC Art Books, delves into the musical preferences of the legendary artist. Written by Jérôme Soligny and featuring input from Geoff MacCormack, the book showcases over 100 musicians, ranging from Little Richard to Kendrick Lamar, whose sounds shaped Bowie's last album, 'Blackstar,' which debuted just two days prior to his passing. Producer Tony Visconti remarked on Lamar's music being a staple during the album's recording. The work also shines a light on lesser-known figures like Biff Rose and includes MacCormack's reflections on Bowie's fascination with Black American music and Kraftwerk. Additionally, it presents rare images from MacCormack's collection, capturing Bowie in 1975 at Cherokee Studios and backstage at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1973, embodying his creative spirit.
