New Amedeo Modigliani Foundation Launched in Rome to Rebuild the Artist Through His Archives
On 19 October in Rome, the Fondazione Archivi Legali Amedeo Modigliani ETS was inaugurated, with Marco Quadrelli serving as president, Giancarlo Graziani as secretary, and Christian Parisot as the archivist. This foundation builds on research that began with Modigliani's daughter, Jeanne Modigliani, in 1939, who sought to reconstruct his biography following his death in January 1920. Her 1958 publication, Modigliani senza leggenda, aimed to distinguish the artist from the legend. The foundation intends to investigate Modigliani's connections in early 20th-century Paris and will operate an Accademia Modigliani under the direction of Chiara Giacomoni. Additionally, a docuseries by San Marino RTV features notable figures such as Paolo Mieli, Corrado Augias, Riccardo Scamarcio, and Tomaso Montanari.
