Neue Galerie to Merge with Metropolitan Museum of Art by 2028

Lauder Neue Galerie. Established in 2001, the Neue Galerie boasts approximately 600 artworks valued at $1.5 billion, amassed by Ronald S. Lauder. The merger will feature notable pieces from artists such as Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele, with Lauder contributing 13 items from his collection. Daniel Weiss, the former president of the Met, confirmed that funding for the Neue's continued operations is in place.
