National Gallery receives major gift of nearly 50 works from Berezdivin Collection

The National Gallery of Art has been gifted nearly 50 pieces from the Berezdivin Collection, a notable private contemporary art collection. This acquisition greatly improves the museum's showcase of artists from the Americas, including those from the United States, the Caribbean, and Latin America. The donation includes a variety of mediums such as painting, photography, mixed media, and conceptual art, highlighting works by Allora & Calzadilla (the Puerto Rico–based duo that represented the US at the 2011 Venice Biennale), Pedro Álvarez, Emilia Azcárate, Luis Cruz Azaceta, José Bedia, Fernando Bryce, Rafael Ferrer, Luis Gispert, Kcho, José Morales, Jesús "Bubu" Negrón, Damián Ortega, Luis González Palma, and Manuel Piña. This contribution reflects the National Gallery's dedication to broadening its contemporary art perspective.
