Nacione™™ Creates Visual Identity for São Paulo's Renovated Pacaembu Stadium

The branding agency Nacione™™ developed a comprehensive visual identity system for São Paulo's historic Pacaembu stadium following its renovation and rebranding as Mercado Livre Arena Pacaembu. The project involved creating a complete brand strategy, visual language, and wayfinding signage that respects the venue's heritage while establishing a contemporary presence. Key elements include an off-white primary color base, geometric typography, and a custom typeface called 'Tipografia Pacaembu' designed by typographer Álvaro Franca. The typeface draws inspiration from Art Deco architectural signage found throughout the stadium complex. The color palette intentionally avoids hues associated with São Paulo's major football clubs, instead incorporating orange, pink, and blue to maintain neutrality. The signage system encompasses various formats including signs, totems, and suspended panels organized by functional areas while maintaining visual cohesion. The design approach emphasizes minimal physical intervention in the space while ensuring clear navigation and accessibility. This visual identity project represents a significant component of the broader restoration initiative led by the Allegra Pacaembu concession, aiming to preserve the cultural and historical significance of this iconic São Paulo landmark while updating its aesthetic for contemporary use.
