N Studio Renovates Bilbao Apartment with Basque Regional Identity and Craftsmanship

N studio has completed a comprehensive renovation of a 90-square-meter apartment in central Bilbao, named Arraiz. The project transforms the residence into an open living space that reflects the owner's passion for the Basque mountains and ceramics. Key modifications include removing one of three original bedrooms to create a unified day area combining living, dining, and kitchen spaces, and converting a former exterior balcony into an integrated reading nook. The design employs a material palette of wood, terracotta, and natural light, featuring custom elements like an asymmetrical arch in the entryway, handmade terrazzo tiles from Huguet Mallorca, and a clay-colored ceramic lamp from Pott Proyect. The renovation emphasizes local craftsmanship and a departure from minimalist trends toward more personalized living environments.
